CNC Software, Inc. Showcases Mastercam X7 Router at AWFS 2013

LAS VEGAS, NV – AWFS 2013 will feature the latest in the line of powerful Mastercam machining software. Stop by booth # 4601 at the Las Vegas Convention Center, Las Vegas, NV, July 24-27, for a look at Mastercam X7 Router. The latest release introduces significant new capabilities, including stock model improvements, Multi-Core support, and so much more.

Mastercam Router

Mastercam Router is CAD/CAM designed specifically for woodworking, furniture, plastics and other industries that commonly use the special benefits that a router can provide. It delivers easy design and programming, efficient nesting, fast engraving and much more.

Mastercam Router offers CAD/CAM tools ranging from basic flat-panel cutting, to complex and artistic 3D machining. Easy-to-use machining functions include contouring, pocketing, drilling, 3D surface cutting and 5-axis machining. It includes basic nesting for maximizing material usage. A more sophisticated nesting option (Advanced Nesting) is also available with functions such as automatic interlocking nesting, filler part nesting to reduce waste, and the ability to save sheet scrap for future use. With advanced nesting you can also mark a series of parts as a group to ensure the entire set is always nested so you have the exact parts needed.

Mastercam’s optional Engraving produces the effect of classic hand-carved art using a CNC machine, with sharp inside corners to give the finished piece a crisp edge. Mastercam’s Engraving Add-On includes a wide variety of choices including standard chiseling, embossed images, combined chiseled/embossed images and many more.

Mastercam Router includes many additional features including variable thickness tab creation, a door geometry creator that helps the user through various standard door designs, and a suite of data translators that accept CAD models from virtually any CAD package.

A few features in the Mastercam X7 Router release are:

• Stock model in Mastercam X7 Router now supports multi-core processing for all toolpaths, making it even faster to regenerate your stock models.

• Ability to select how finishing passes are created (helix upwardly, helix downwardly, and circle).

• 3D HST Raster, Radial, and Spiral toolpath now include multi-core processing to speed up your toolpath regeneration.

• Raster, Waterline, Spiral, Radial, and Hybrid toolpaths now offer a method for selecting surfaces that your tool motion should avoid.

• Oscillating tool motion improves your tool life by not machining with the same area of the tool. The Curve 5-axis and Swarf 5-axis toolpaths now include an Oscillate option on the Collisions Control page.
