Bioformix Inc. Hires Four New Staff Members

Cincinnati – Bioformix, Inc., a manufacturer of energy efficient, high performance, sustainable polymer platforms, has added four new members to its staff.

Bob Blaut has joined the team as an associate director of national accounts. His responsibilities with Bioformix include maintaining sales relationships between current corporate clients and generating interest among new potential buyers. He brings more than 20 years of experience in adhesive sales, competitor analysis and team building. Blaut received a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Cincinnati.

Fred Caputo joins as an associate director of technical service. Caputo is tasked with improving operations, increasing profitability and enhancing overall growth. He joins the company following more than 20 years of experience in technical service at the Loctite Corporation and Henkel, as well as eight years of service as a high school science instructor for the State of Connecticut. He received bachelor’s degrees in chemistry and business from Central Connecticut State University as well as a master’s degree in business from Rensselaer at Hartford in Conn.

Phil Carlberg has joined the team as an engineering fellow in process development. Carlberg comes from The Dow Chemical Company where he served for more than 30 years as a fellow in technical strategy development and commercial scale chemical manufacturing. He brings extensive experience in reaction engineering and process scale-up. Carlberg received both a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in chemical engineering from Oklahoma State University.

Ed Knapp, a veteran of the chemical operations industry, comes to Bioformix, Inc., as an associate director of production. Knapp previously served at Pilot Chemical Company, bringing a wealth of experience including specialized expertise in lean manufacturing, chemical processing, strategic planning, personnel development and operational efficiency improvement. Knapp earned a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Cincinnati.
