TAUBERBISCHOFSHEIM, GERMANY – Solid wood machine and systems manufacturer The Weinig Group is concentrating its custom planning technology at the company’s facility in Tauberbischofsheim, Germany.

The move will allow the company to realize growth in its development, sales and assembly in segment timber construction, the company said in a press release. It will allow greater and more strategic use of its planning technology and high-performance hydromats.

Additionally, the company’s ripping process technology, as well as manufacturing of circular and band saws, will be housed Freiburg, Germany in the facility of saw manufacturer Raimann, a division of The Weinig Group.

The Weinig Group will close operations of of the WACO Jonsereds AB, based in Halmstad, Sweden. The company will meet with meet with employee representation to negotiate the shut-down.

Earlier this month Weinig announced the development of EnVIsion, a plant-wide software that integrates manufacturing data flow through both panel and solid wood machinery. The software is expected to enable mass-customization or "batch-one" production.
