Wood Composite Panel Production Capacity Declines 4.4%

Total North American production capacity of particleboard, MDF, hardboard and engineered wood siding decreased 4.4 percent from January 2013 to January 2014, according to the Composite Panel Association (CPA).

U.S. demand for wood-plastic composite and plastic lumber is expected to rise 9.8 percent annually to $5.5 billion in 2018, creating a market for 2.6 billion pounds of plastic, according to a new study by The Freedonia Group Inc.
