LIGNA, Software and Social Media Headline Wood Tech Summit at WMSTORONTO -- Wood Tech Summit, a collection of free interactive presentations, will be held during the 2011 Woodworking Machinery & Supply Expo, October 27-29 at the Direct Energy Centre.

WMS will feature a different Wood Tech Summit topic each day, highlighted by a special presentation on LIGNA Hannover, the world’s largest woodworking show. Other themes are woodworking design and manufacturing software trends and how to market using social networking media.

“The concept behind Wood Tech Summit is to provide an industry forum where woodworkers can learn about new concepts and interact with the presenters and each other in a dynamic question-and-answer session right on the show floor,” said Rich Christianson, WMS Conference Director. “This is a unique opportunity for WMS attendees to listen, learn and get answers to questions that directly impact their livelihoods.

LIGNA, Software and Social Media Headline Wood Tech Summit at WMS“We are especially pleased to bring a taste of LIGNA to WMS,” Christianson added. “I personally have attended 11 LIGNA shows during my career and can say without hesitation that if you have never been to Hannover, you should attend this presentation to learn what you are missing.”

The LIGNA Technology session is being presented in special partnership with Deutsche Messe, an international trade show group that owns and manages dozens of shows around the world, including Ligna . The 2011 edition of Ligna held earlier this spring, attracted more than 90,000 woodworkers from around the world.

In addition to the three presentations listed above, 20-20 Technologies and Blum Canada will present "Technology That Fits: Software Solutions for Cabinetmakers" at the Wood Tech Summit stage. Five sessions will be conducted over the three days of the show. (Click her to view full Wood Tech Summit stage schedule.)
