CNC Automation's Robotic Line at WMS 2013 Benefits Charity

TORONTO - CNC Automation's robotic machinery line was a big hit in more ways than one at the 2013 Woodworking Machinery & Supply Expo (WMS 2013), Oct. 24-26 at the International Centre.

The automated system starring Ernest, the Kuka robot on loan from Ro-Bois-Tic's factory in St. Apollinaire, QC, drew considerable attention from woodworkers visiting CNC Automation's booth, the largest at the show. They watched as the industrial robot retrieved parts nested on a Thermwood CNC router and placed them onto a conveyor leading to a Fravol edgebander.

The robotic line was also a big hit with Habitat of Humanity. Parts processed on the line were assembled at the booth into 63 units of one- and two-door vanities during the three day show. The vanities were donated to Habitat of Humanity to be sold at its ReStores throughout the greater Toronto area.

This was the third WMS that CNC Automation manufactured products to benefit Habitat of Humanity.

While CNC Automation took the lead, it had a lot of partners who helped, including those who supplied material and hardware and sponsored the program. They included: Royce//Ayr, Machineries Automatech, Blum, Kremlin Rexson, Richelieu, Uniboard, Vance Communications Canada, Downsview Kitchens,  Newpro, New Age, Hutton Forest Products, Plum Creek and Olon.
