Woodworking Network Will Make News of Its Own Covering IWF 2014Woodworking Network will be exceptionally easy to find at the International Woodworking Fair. At base camp, Booth #1860 at the Georgia World Congress Center, the team will be tweeting, posting and producing videos and publications live daily right on the show floor.

On hand at IWF 2014 will be more than a dozen Woodworking Network team members, including our sales team – Jim Leahey, Renee Stritar, and publisher Laurel Didier. The editorial team includes editors Bill Esler, Rich Christianson, Karen Koenig, Michaelle Bradford and Matt Schumake; e-team manager Stephanie Junca; social media marketing manager Josh Greenberg, and woodworking and video personality Jared Patchin. The editors of Woodworking Network are producing the Official IWF Show Daily, to be delivered all four mornings at the major entry points to the Georgia World Congress Center. Watch for your copy.

August 19, the day before the Fair begins, IWF 2014 and Woodworking Network will host the Woodworking Inventors symposium, a peer-to-peer conclave with six presentations by woodworkers who have created new product lines and business processes. Register at woodworkingnetwork.com/iwfinventors.

Video and Social Media
On August 20, just after the show opens, Woodworking Network will break the news of the IWF 2014 Challengers Distinguished Achievement Award winners. As background, Woodworking Network published the Official IWF 2014 Challengers Award magazine.

The video crews from Woodworking Network will also be hustling through the aisles in Hall A and B. As Official IWF 2014 Videographer, Woodworking Network will post live video from the floor continuously at WoodworkingNetwork.com, and through YouTube and Vimeo.

Social media channels Twitter, Facebook and Google+ will also carry photo reports, news and host interactive sessions with speakers and conferences throughout the hall. #IWF14 is the show hashtag.

On Friday, August 22, at 1:00 p.m., Woodworking Network will present “Housing Markets and the Secondary Woodworking Industry – Lessons from the Downturn,” with speakers Urs Buehlmann, Virginia Tech University; Matt Bumgardner, USDA Forest Service; and Karen Koenig, Wood Products.

New Brands at Woodworking Network
As a media outlet, Woodworking Network intends to make some news of its own, with refreshed branding, expansion of its live event program, and developments in its online platforms. This includes a pre-launch peek at WoodworkingNetwork.com’s new responsive design platform, which will be friendly to all devices, including iPads and other tablets; smart phones; and laptops. It is slated to go live later this year.

Education advocacy is also high on the list for Woodworking Network. Alpha Cam/Cabinet Vision software teamed up with Woodworking Network to fund the Woodwork Career Alliance (woodworkcareer.org) wood industry education and scholarship fund.

A total 129 T-shirts were sold (so far, order at teespring.com/iheartwoodworking), emblazoned with an I Heart Woodworking. Anyone wearing one can come by the Alphacam and Cabinet Vision (Booth #4613) at IWF and be entered into a drawing to win an iPad Air.

Awards and Recognition
IWF 2014 also triggers the promotion of Woodworking Network’s live events and related awards programs. Right after the International Woodworking Fair ends, attention turns to the WOOD 100, the annual honors program where fast growing wood manufacturing firms share their secrets for success. The WOOD 100 will publish in the September issue of Wood Products magazine.

In October, the 2014 Wood Tech Summit Leadership Conference will be held at the Woodworking Centre of Ontario at Conestoga College, near Toronto. Dates are October 9-10 for the third annual edition of the program.

At IWF, three Woodworking Network recognition programs announce their call for entries in these popular awards:

• Wood Industry Market Leaders

• Woodwork Design Portfolio

• Top Shelf Closet Design
