Entries in the IWF 2014 Challengers Award recognition program will be profiled in a digital magazine to be issued June 20 by Woodworking Network, a unit of Vance Publishing. The Official Challengers Award for Distinguished Achievement publication will be produced on behalf of the International Woodworking Fair show organizers. (Woodworking Network also published the 2012 Challengers Award publication.)
All 61 entries, as well as semi-finalists and finalists will be covered in individual articles and reports, along with features covering the history and significance of the Challengers Award, and information about the 2014 International Woodworking Fair. Woodworking Network is also publisher of the Official Show Daily, is Official Videographer for IWF 2014, and will stage Woodworking Inventors, a day-long symposium, August 19, the day prior to the show.
The IWF 2014 Challengers Award committee recognizes woodworking supplier innovations in a competition that culminates in seven award winners announced opening day at the International Woodworking Fair, August 20-23 in Atlanta.
Last week the Challengers Award committee released the list of semi-finalists, 33 products from 23 companies, which were narrowed from a field of 61 entrants from 45 companies announced in April.
The Challengers Award recognizes equipment, supply and service advancements with regards to technology, process or environmental improvement in the woodworking industry.
The Challengers Award semi-finalists listed below mark the second round in the process, which has been updated since it last took place at IWF 2012. Another elimination round will cull the field to 20 finalists, with seven winners being revealed at the biennial IWF 2014, the International Woodworking Fair. North America's largest woodworking event, IWF will be held Aug. 20-23 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta.
