All of the crane systems from Schmalz are based around an aluminum profile, which is available in five sizes and in lengths of up to 8,000 mm. It is used for both the crane runways and the crane girders. Despite the compact dimensions and light weight, it is extremely resilient to bending and torsion. The strongest profile can hold loads of up to 950 kg. Another component is the transport trolley, which is equipped with special low-friction rollers. It holds cable balancers, vacuum tube lifters, or hoists such as chain hoists and easily moves them in the crane rail. The complete system also includes a cable trolley to attach the power supply (electricity, compressed air, or vacuum), end stops to limit and set the travel area, as well as sealing plates and mounting elements. The cranes are installed in a ceiling or portal construction using rigid or height-adjustable suspension elements.

What are the resulting configuration options? The modular component system lets you design it as a single-beam, double-beam or monorail crane system. If needed, several crane girders can be used within one crane system. You can use rail connectors to extend crane runways and expand your working area as needed. For example, several vacuum tube lifters can be used in a connected crane system to cover larger shipping and picking areas. Because of their low moving mass, all crane systems are extremely easy to move, brake and position – irrespective of the configuration and the load-bearing device being used.

The SRA system offers various solutions for individual requirements, such as confined space conditions. Low ceiling heights can be compensated by mounting the crane girder at the height of the crane runways. You can use a telescopic jib to bypass interference contours, which can be caused by ceiling beams or pillars. You can also use a conductor line for the power supply. The Schmalz Conductor Line SCL provides electricity to all of the devices that are carried along with the crane, such as a chain hoist or vacuum lifting device. In contrast to systems that are powered by a trailing cable, there is no need for a cable storage device or troublesome cable loops.
