Explore New Opportunities at the Cabinets & Closets Expo
Ready or Not, Controversial Product Safety Website Goes Live

Explore New Opportunities at the Cabinets & Closets ExpoIt didn’t take a whole lot of effort for me to convince a New Jersey-area manufacturer of institutional furniture why he should register to attend the Cabinets & Closets Expo, taking place April 10-11 at the Garden State Exhibit Center in Somerset, NJ.

During our phone conversation last week, the exec told  that his company was thinking about buying its first CNC machining center so that it could do more of its own product manufacturing. He wanted to know if it would be beneficial for him to attend the Cabinets & Closets Expo. During our conversation, it also became apparent that he was not familiar with the International Woodworking Fair (IWF) in Atlanta this August.

Full disclosure: I have a vested interest to say positive things about the Cabinets & Closets Explore New Opportunities at the Cabinets & Closets ExpoConference & Expo because I am very personally involved with the orchestration of the event. That said, it’s really not hard to find words for why someone should attend the show, especially someone in need of information located within a short drive of the convention center.

Back to our conversation, I told him that while there would not be a lot of operating CNC equipment that there would be some, including Holz-Her’s first North American showing of a new vertical CNC machining center, plus a vertical CNC machining center to be displayed by Stiles Machinery and a compact machining center  and edgebander at Felder’s booth. Colonial Saw will demonstrate a vertical panel saw.

In addition to these companies, there are a number of other well-recognized names of CNC woodworking machinery that will exhibit and field questions from attendees at the show including Anderson/Omnitech, Thermwood and Tritec Associates.

On top of getting some initial questions answered at equipment exhibitor booths, I suggested he would find it beneficial to also talk with CAD/CAM software companies displaying at the show, including Cabinet Vision, KCD Software, Mozaik Software and Roger Shaw and Associates.

No doubt, I added, he would find some of the other exhibits of interest such as those featuring textured 3D laminates, wood components and hardware.

After discussing the many reasons he should come to Somerset to do his initial CNC research, I implored him to make plans to attend the International Woodworking Fair Aug. 20-23 in Atlanta.

Oh, one more thing to convince him to come to Somerset. I invited his colleagues and him to attend the expo as my guest by using the promo code – RICHC – during step 3 of the registration process.

I invite anyone who made it this far in this blog to be my guest by doing the same.
