Hon Furniture Parent HNI Office Furniture Sales Up 50 Percent

Business furniture manufacturer HNI Corp. (NYSE: HNI) net income rose 30 percent, with office furniture up 50 percent for the fourth quarter ended January 31, 2015. Sales were $646.7 million and net income was $7.1 million.


Haworth's Contract Furniture Sales Grow 27%, Reach $1.8 Billion

Haworth Inc. posted sales of $1.8 billion in 2014, a 27% increase over the previous year. The privately-held contract furniture maker attributed its double-digit revenue increase to strong, organic growth and last year's acquisition of the Italian-based Poltrona Frau Group.


West Coast Ports Slowdown Hurting Wood Manufacturers

West Coast ports were closed two weekends in a row in a management lockout following months of negotiating over a union contract with the International Longshore and Warehouse Union. Furniture makers like Flexsteel say it is affecting business.
