Hooker Furniture's Sales Rise; Profits Fall as Start-ups Debut

Hooker Furniture (Nasdaq:HOFT) said the start-up costs of two new divisions were primarily responsible for an 8.1% decline in net income for its fiscal year ended Feb. 2.

Canadian housing starts slid 3.5 percent to 184,476 units in March compared to 191,126 in February, according to Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC).
