Business furniture entrepreneur Stirworks, Inc. has developed adjustable stand-up desks with surfaces of powder coated MDF, motorized metal stand, and Blue Tooth and other electronics. Stirworks offers large-scale distribution to consumer and business sales channels.

Flexsteel Plans $6M More Investment as Sales Rise to $114.4M

Flexsteel Industries plans to invest $6 million more in its Edgerton distribution facility. The maker of casegood and upholstered furniture, saw an increase in its residential furniture sales, allowing net sales to improve to $114.4 million.

Masco Cabinetry Sales Fall 3 Percent on ERP Implementation

Masco Corporation (NYSE: MAS) cabinetry sales fell 3 percent during the fourth quarter, even as overall sales gained, driven by its Delta plumbing and decorative architectural hardware. ERP implementation and the strong U.S. dollar created challenges.

Choice Wood Inc., a firewood processing and manufacturing start-up, will create 50 jobs and invest $1.2 million into a new operation in Fitzgerald-Ben Hill County, GA.

Aaron's Furniture Revenues Rose 37 Percent in 4th Quarter

Aaron's, Inc. (NYSE: AAN) furniture and appliance leasing firm said fourth quarter 2014 revenues rose 37% to $759.7 million. Net earnings were down slightly, at $22.1 million.

Shoe cabinets may be excluded from the antidumping order on Chinese wood bedroom furniture following a preliminary determination by the U.S. Department of Commerce, International Trade Administration.

Jack Cartwright Seating Acquired by UK-Based Boss Design Group

A British furniture firm has acquired American seating manufacturer Jack Cartwright. The Boss Design Group says acquisition of the High Point, NC-based firm gives the UK manufacturer a greater foothold in the U.S. market. Terms of the deal, effective February 1, were not disclosed.
