Fire Destroys Oregon Plywood Mill

Fire raged through the Springfield Plywood and Veneer mill on July 18, speading by airborne debris and causing glue tanks and propane storage to explode. It leaves an uncertain future for the 33-acre mill.

Office and healthcare furniture giant Herman Miller, Inc. will purchase majority ownership in Stamford, CT-based lighting and accessories designer Design Within Reach, Inc. for $154 million.


Thermally Fused Laminate Shipments Climb 7.3%

June shipments of thermally fused laminate (TFL) were 118 MMSF, up 7.3% compared to the same period a year ago, according to the Composite Panel Association (CPA).
