Wood and plastic toilet seat maker Sanderson Plumbing Products may close April 30 if a buyer is not found for its Columbus, MS plant. Founded in 1893, and bailed out by the state in 2012, it issued a WARN notice of 250 layoffs.

Herman Miller furniture orders rose 21% as some customers advanced contracts to avoid a Feb. 3 price increase. Sales rose 7.7% to $455.9 million. A $1.1 million restructuring charge was recorded for Geiger.

Sauder Woodworking Gets IKEA Furniture Deal, Invests $13 Million

IKEA inks a 5-year deal with Sauder Woodworking for furniture production. Sauder's Archbold, OH plant already produces IKEA kitchen cabinets. It now will hire 150 and invest $13 million to build furniture lines.
