LINCOLNSHIRE, IL —

The 2011 Red Book Guide is soliciting articles on best practice tips and techniques in the areas of: Solid Wood Machining, Panel Processing, Cutting & Grinding, Gluing & Pressing, Sanding & Finishing, Components/Hardware & Assembly, Software and Plant Production. Submissions must be received before Jan. 28.

These tips should be non-commercial and can relate to high production and/or custom applications. Last year’s Red Book articles ran the gamut, including: nested-based machining, tips for saw blade maintenance, aggregate heads, edgebander glue pot maintenance, software purchasing tips, best practices for moulding custom and production runs, etc.

Length of submission does not matter: it can be three ideas for improving shaper quality, 10 ways to optimize the finishing operation, or a longer article on steps for getting lean. All submissions used in print and online will credit the person’s name and/or company that supplied the information.

For more information, or to submit a best practice, contact Karen Koenig at 847-634-4366; [email protected].
