Senate passes 'Hardwood Resolution'
WASHINGTON -- The U.S. Senate unanimously passed S.Res. 411, "Hardwood Resolution."

The resolution was sponsored by Senator Blanche Lincoln (D-AR), and co-sponsored by 12  other senators. It recognizes U.S. hardwood products as a sustainable resource, and urges that these products be given full consideration in any program to promote construction of environmentally preferable commercial, public or private buildings.

The Senate resolution is the counterpart to House Resolution H.Res 81, which was unanimously passed by the House last September.
