North American composite panel shipments totaled 5.469 million square feet (MMSF on a 3/4-inch basis) in 2010, an increase of 2%, according to statistics collected by the Composite Panel Association.
The 2010 total includes:
* Particleboard, 3.192 MMSF (3/4-inch basis), up 4% from 2009;
* MDF, 1.835 MMSF (3/4-inch basis), down 2%; and
* Hardboard, 2.649 MMSF (1/8-inch basis), up 7% .
