Two hardware designers won first place awards in the 24th Annual Doug Mockett & Co. Design Contest.

John O’Connor of Griffith, IN, won for his design of a shelf support, and Jeffrey Bolen of Marina Del Rey, CA, won for his table leg design.

O’Connor’s design is to be extruded from aluminum and be stylish, yet sturdy. Bolen’s stainless steel and wood table leg is contemporary and steps down from a wide top to almost a point at its base.

“It has been most rewarding to bring exceptional designs to fruition and watch them blossom,” said Doug Mockett. Each of the winners received $1,000, an engraved achievement trophy and a royalty based on sales.
