— Hettich America celebrated the opening of its new Buford, GA headquarters Jan. 20. The 150,000-square-foot operation will employ 100, supplying hardware for kitchen cabinetry and residential furniture manufacturers.

The Hettich Group, based in Kirchlengern, Germany,  began U.S. operations as Heinze America Ltd. in Greensboro, NC, in 1979, moving to Charlotte, NC in 1983 as Hettich America Corp.

In 1991 Hettich America acquired roller-bearing slide manufacturer Grant, moving for a period to Harrisonville, MO, and later relocating administration and warehousing to Alpharetta, GA and manufacturing to Baldwin, GA.

Hettich America consolidated operations in its Buford location between June and November 2010. "Everyone on the team is really excited about the re-invented Hettich America and about its future perspective,” says Thomas Ginschel, president and CEO of Hettich America.
