-- Furniture component company Doug Mockett & Co. was founded in 1980, at the kitchen table of owner Doug Mockett.

Since then the company has grown from a one wire access grommet in two colors, pictured at left, to a diverse product line encompassing more than 3,500 components.

"We began with the SG grommet going into a 1-3/4-inch hole, in two colors, black and walnut brown, a box of 1,000 each," Mockett said. "Then people called asking for a larger size. So we made it. They asked for wire management. We designed a bunch. Then high-quality table legs and so forth. And here we are in 2010."

Mockett said the company is planning to launch its fourth decade with new and innovative product offerings to stay a step ahead.
