DeVilbiss recalls 460,000 air compressors

WASHINGTON -- DeVilbiss Air Power Co. of Jackson, TN, has issued a voluntary recall for approximately 460,000 air compressors that reportedly can overheat, posing a fire hazard.

According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, DeVilbiss received nine reports of motors overheating, including three reports of fire damage to surrounding property. No injuries were reported.

The recalled compressors were sold under the Craftsman, Delta Shopmaster, DeVilbiss, Husky and Porter-Cable brand names at home centers nationwide between 2003 and 2005.
