Canada invests in wood fiber biomass program
OTTOWA — The Canadian government has launched the Investments in Forest Industry Transformation (IFIT) program to help expand opportunities for its forestry sector through the development of innovative projects and technologies. Launched Aug. 2, the IFIT will invest $100 million over four years in projects that implement new technologies leading to non-traditional high-value forest products and renewable energies utilizing wood fiber.

Forest sector companies that have existing forest product manufacturing facilities in Canada may be eligible for IFIT support. Proposals will be accepted until Sept. 17. IFIT will end March 31, 2014. For more information, contact [email protected].
