AWFS call for belt sander racing jockeys

-  Belt wood sander jockeys from all over the country will compete at the 2011 National Championship Belt Sander Races, set for July 21, 2011 at the AWFS Fair in Las Vegas.

Coordinated by the Belt Sander Racing Association, Accuride International, and the AWFS Fair committee, the event will take place at 4:30 p.m. in the convention center’s Central Hall, booth #10300.

Competitors will vie for awards on a custom-built 75-foot wooden track complete with electronic starting signals. Accuride will present first, second, and third place awards, as well as a special Judge’s Award and recognition for the Best Design Theme.

“The competition is bound to be fierce," says BSRA president and Accuride Regional Sales Manager Jamie Goodwin. Racing slots are limited, so Goodwin suggests reserving spots at the AWFS 2011 belt sander starting line early. 

The Belt Sander Races, also held at European woodworking shows such as ligna, draw  close to a AWFS call for belt sander racing jockeysthousand people packing the stands to see the grit—and sometimes sanders—fly off the track.
