WASHINGTON - Samuel Lawrence Furniture of High Point, NC, has added about 2,500 more wood sleigh beds to the voluntary recall it initiated last month.

The expansion brings the number of recalled beds up to 22,150, including 1,350 in Canada, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.

CPSC and Health Canada have each issued recall announcements for the full- and twin-size Bordeaux Collection bed frames. The safety agencies said Samuel Lawrence has received more than 100 reports of headboards or footboards detaching, including one report of a man who sustained a foot injury.

The bed frames were manufactured by Poh Huat Furniture Ind. of Malaysia and imported by Samuel Lawrence Furniture. Consumers are encouraged to contact Samuel Lawrence Furniture to obtain a free repair kit.
