Custom woodworkers are ever more web savvy, and it shows as sales and marketing grow online. Custom wood shops of all types - hand-built furniture shops, residential cabinetmakers, wood models, toys and household items - are sharing in the online sales boom like other businesses.

 A search at gifts and crafts purveyor Etsty.com for the term "wooden" finds 234,684 items listed, much of it crafts by part time woodworkers, but a considerable number sourced from professional woodworking companies. Tin Roof Cutting Boards, for example, sells pecan

 wood and mixed wood clip boards (starting at $25.95), cutting boards ($19.95), and stools at its Etsy line-up. Though Etsy channels communications indirectly to Tin Roof Cutting Boards, a search for the firm turns up its Facebook page which links directly to its website.

There the backing of a commercial woodworking business oeprated by Kurt Pratka, founder of Tin Roof Cutting Boards, in partnership with Tough Country Sawmill. Tin Roof Cutting Boards provides the e-commerce expertise, Tough Country Sawmill handles production. 

The business specializes in pecan wood, but uses a variety of hardwoods that include walnut, maple, oak, pecan, mesquite, padauk, purpleheart, and teak, among others.  

 Tough Country also saws, mills and kiln dries wood, and produces custom cabinetry and woodwork.
