MOORESVILLE, NC — Woodworking machinery manufacturer Michael Weinig Inc. recently honored Alfred Egenberger for 50 years of service at the company.
According to the Mooresville Tribune, Egenberger began working for Weinig as a 14-year-old intern at the company’s headquarters in Tauberbischofsheim, Germany. He later transferred with the company when it opened a North American subsidiary, in North Carolina, in 1975. The Tribune states he played an integral role in the introduction of new technology, including the first hydro-tool for the Weinig Hydromat series of moulders, as well as the Profi line of machinery.
He retires as quality control manager at the company.
