POULSBO, WA - Wood furnishings producer Watson Furniture was named the Top Green Manufacturer in Washington at Seattle Business' Green 50 awards.

Watson was honored for sustainable manufacturing processes and products including design and maintenance of a manufacturing facility that has no floor drains, self contained and regulated disposal of waste water, use of regionally sourced materials that contain high recycled content, and manufacturing products that are end-of-use recyclable - some as high as 100%.

"We pursue closing the loop between the waste that is a by-product of manufacturing and our ability to reuse that waste in a manner that lightens our environmental impact," according to Cia Mooney, Watson VP of product development.

Seattle Business honorees also included custom cabinetry manufacturer, Canyon Creek Cabinetry, Monroe, WA, and Weyerhaeuser, Federal Way, WA, a forest products company. Nichols Brothers Boat Builders, Freeland, WA, also made the 2011 list.
