US to Issue Antidumping Duties on Chinese Engineered Wood FloorsWASHINGTON — The U.S. International Trade Commission (USITC), in a vote of 4 to 2, cleared the way for the Commerce Dept. to impose antidumping and countervailing duty orders on engineered wood flooring imported from China

USITC concluded that the U.S. wood flooring market had been harmed by China’s cheaper, subsidized multilayered wood flooring.

The USITC noted that 13 U.S. companies produce multilayered wood flooring, employing 1,915 people in 2010. The value of imports totaled approximately $310 million, and accounted for approximately 56.4% of the total "apparent consumption" of these products in 2010, according to the USITC.
