WOODBURN, OR – The alleged arson of a wood shop at Woodburn High School Friday morning has resulted in the arrest of three 15-year-old students of the school.

Investigators told KATU News that the three suspects were cooperative in their interviews. Each of the teens faces a charge of first degree arson, reckless burning and reckless endangering.

The fire forced the evacuation of about 1,400 students plus teachers and staff at the school. No injuries were reported.

The wood shop's roof collapsed and the fire also damaged adjacent portions of the high school, according to KBOI2 News.

A janitor reportedly discovered the fire in a storage area and unsuccessfully attempted to put it out with a fire extinguisher.

The school will be closed this week while repairs are made.
