Showplace Wood Launches Cabinet Reface Dealerships

HARRISBURG, SD - Showplace Wood Products has launched a new dealership initiative: Refacing & More, a residential cabinet refacing program sold through independent refacing contractors trained and certified by the company.

The cabinetry manufacturer says it has moved into refacing to address increasing demand for the renovation service among homeowners, but hopes it will provide an entry point to other cabinet sales and upgrades.

"Refacing & More is much like a franchise, but without the fees or royalties,"says Jon Bour director of refacing sales and development at Showplace. Contractors  receive training, bid estimation programs and marketing support.

Bour says Refacing & More differs from other refacing programs in that certified contractors updating the look of their client’s existing cabinetry, can add entirely new elements, using  Showplace component blending new and refaced cabinetry. Prior to launching the program, Showplace already offered cabinet refacing, as well as home organization offerings such a Murphy beds.

Showplace Wood Products was founded in 1999 by Tony Bour, whoe previously founded StarMark Cabinetry (in 1979) and Decora Cabinetry (in 1976). Within the cabinet industry, Bour served two terms as the president of the Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Assn. (KCMA).

Showplace Wood Products, an employee-owned company, has manufacturing plants in Harrisburg and Beresford, SD, along with retail showrooms in Harrisburg and Sioux Falls, SD; Urbandale, IA; Parker, CO; Fargo, ND; and Brainerd, MN. It distributes customized cabinetry through 800+ independent kitchen and bath dealerships in 50 states.
