Seneca Reopens Noti SawmillNOTI, OR -- Seneca Sawmill Co. is ramping up the Noti sawmill it purchased recently from Swanson Group Manufacturing.

Swanson had shut down the mill on Sept. 23. Approximately 100 of the sawmill's workers are now employed by Seneca Sawmill, which began bringing operations back in mid-October, according to The Register-Guard.

Seneca wanted to buy the mill because “it’s a relatively efficient facility and we felt that it would be a good strategic addition,” Re told the newspaper, adding that he’s not planning any major changes for the mill.

Seneca bills itself as the “one of the largest-producing, single-location sawmills in the USA." The company claims to produce more than 350 million board feet of lumber each year.

Swanson, which maintains a sawmill in Glendale, OR, also has plywood operations in Glendale and Springfield, OR.
