MINNEAPOLIS, MN -- Target sold its office furniture division, Target Commercial Interiors (TCI), an interior design firm with showrooms in four states, to Minneapolis-based Omni Workspace Co.

Also known as A&M Business Interior Services, Omni Workspace will rename TCI after the purchase is completed, and it will function as a subsidiary maintaining its headquarters in Minneapolis and six additional showrooms in Arizona, Illinois and Wisconsin.

“I’m looking forward to the future as we join forces with nearly 30-year partner A&M Business Interior Services to combine talented teams, industry expertise and a tremendous group of clients. My leadership team and I are committed to ensuring a smooth transition for our team and for Target,” said Mike Litwin, VP and GM, Target Commercial Interiors.

Established as a Target subsidiary in 1953, TCI is one of the country's largest Steelcase dealers. Its history as an authorized dealer for the Grand Rapids, MI, office furniture manufacturer dates back to 1964 with TCI receiving its Platinum Partner award in 2012.

TCI also shares a long history with A&M Business Interiors which became the firm's service partner in 1988.

Target says it will remain a vendor partner of TCI with the company supplying office furniture to the retailer's headquarters and other offices around the country.
