Ply Gem Windows to Add 200 JobsROCKY MOUNT, VA - Ply Gem Windows, a manufacturer of vinyl and wood-clad window and door products for residential and light commercial construction, announced the addition of 200 jobs and a significant capital investment at its Rocky Mount manufacturing facility by the end of 2014.

“The investment in the Rocky Mount facility will ensure the local community will benefit from our growth initiatives,” said Lynn Morstad, president, Ply Gem Windows, who made the announcement during a news conference. “Through these initiatives, we are looking to bring our job count at the Rocky Mount facility to 1,100 associates by the end of 2014.”

WSLS TV reported that Ply Gem has committed to a total investment of $9.1 million to upgrade the plant's equipment and software, plus step up lean manufacturing initiatives.

According to Ply Gem Windows, the investment is a reflection of an improving housing market and of demand for the company’s products.

Ply Gem Windows is a division of Ply Gem, located in Cary, NC. The parent company recorded more than $1 billion in sales in 2011 and employs more than 4,300 people across North America.
