NUEMARKT, GERMANY -- Pfleiderer, parent company of Uniboard and Pergo, elected Harald Joachim Joos as its supervisory board chairman.

Joos, who was appointed to the Phleiderer Board on July 12, succeeds Hanno Fielder, who stepped down as of August 31. Joos' election to chairman coincides with the court appointment of Florian Kawohl, managing director of the investment firm Strategic Value Parnter, to the board.

In a subsequent announcement about its ongoing restructuring, Pfleiderer said it was reducing the number of executive board positions. The contract of service of Pawel Wyrzykowski was terminated by mutual consent as of Oct. 17. Wyrzykowski was in charge of Business Center Eastern Europe, Panels North America and Business Center Flooring Europe. He will continue to serve the company in an advisory function.

The contract of service of Heiko Graeve, who held executive board responsibility as CFO, was also terminated by mutual consent as of Oct. 17.
