Pella Window Nears Class Action Settlement

Pella Window Nears Class Action SettlementCHICAGO - Pella Windows says a class action suit launched in 2006 over its ProLine windows is nearing a settlement.

Under terms of the agreement, the Saltzman vs. Pella class-action lawsuit involving Pella ProLine casement, awning and transom windows made in 2006 and earlier will extend customer service support with a claims process for early products with service needs. The agreement is pending court approval.

"In the overwhelming majority of cases, our Pella windows performed extremely well and as designed," said Pat Meyer, Pell president and CEO in a statement announcement the deal. "We know that each home or building is unique and the settlement is designed to address the relatively small number that may have experienced a problem."

Pella and the plaintiff's law firm filed the settlement agreement proposal over the Pella ProLine windows with the federal district court in Chicago for the court's approval, prior to being implemented. Pending review by the court, customer notifications could begin as early as this fall.
