The 125-employee company told the Wall St. Journal it added a second shift last fall as 2013 exports jumped 10%. VP international sales Joe D'Antonio said he expects foreign sales to be up 25% this year.

Oakworks Inc. Adds Shift with Its Exports on the Rise  "Since 1977, when my wife Linda and I made all of our tables by hand in the commune where we started Oakworks, we have always understood the importance of U.S. manufacturing," says CEO Jeff Riasch. "We came to understand that we are all connected to the land and to each other, we have a responsibility to nurture all. This sense of connection and responsibility is reflected in our commitment to U.S. manufacturing, the environment, our customers, and our employees."

Oakworks tables can be custumized in a variety of species (lacewood, zebrawood and curly maple for example) and numerous stains and coatings. Laser engraving is also available.
