CHICAGO - Wood veneer, honeycomb cardboard and recycled felt furnishings from BuzziSpace generated buzz at NeoCon 2012, and provided refuge from the noisy crowds for cellphone users and solitude seekers.

Based in Antwerp, Belgium. BuzziSpace offers a collection that serves up privacy and quiet space as an antidote to public workspaces of collaborative office furniture designs. BuzziSpace furnishings are made of honeycomb corrugated board upholstered in sound dampening fabric of recycled wool or poly-acrylic blend, padded with recycled felt made from plastic bottles. Some models are wrapped with wood veneer.

BuzziSpace's ability to create micro-environments - a cocoon for deep concentration or phone conversations - was put to the test during the noisy NeoCon show.

The annual NeoCon contract furniture showcase, which featured 700 exhibitors occupying 1 million square feet, ended today in Chicago.
