FORDSVILLE, KY - Kimball International announced plans to expand its National Office Furniture facility in Fordsville, Kentucky, and bring production of Kimball Hospitality furniture back from Asia. Production is expected to start later this month.

The contract furniture manufacturer said it will invest $318,000 in the project. The plans call to add 42 jobs to the 181 currently employed at 195,000-square-foot facility.

“We are very excited about the expansion of our operations in our Fordsville facility,” said Kevin McCoy, president of National Office Furniture. “We feel that the most important contributor of our success is our people. Product and processes can be copied; people cannot. We believe our people in Fordsville made it possible for us to make this investment.”

The Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority preliminarily approved National Office Furniture for tax incentives up to $300,000 through the Kentucky Business Investment program.

National Office Furniture's Fordsville plant opened in 1973 and was previously retooled in 2009, following a $4.5 million investment. The company also has manufacturing facilities in Jasper and Santa Claus, Indiana, and Danville, Kentucky.

Kimball International Inc. (NASDAQ: KBAL) is headquartered in Jasper, Indiana.
