NKBA To Certify Lowe's Cabinet Employees

MOORESVILLE, NC -Lowe's kitchen, bath and cabinetry design department employees will now be trained and certified by the National Kitchen and Bath Association.

NKBA and Lowe's, the world’s second-largest home improvement retailer, jointly announced the program, which will educate and train Lowe’s employees who specialize in interior kitchen and bath projects.

“The new relationship with the NKBA provides more opportunities for our kitchen and bath designers to build their skill set,"  said Scott Purvis, Lowe’s VP human resources for stores.

Eligible Lowe’s employees will be ofered the opportunity to take NKBA courses and exams to earn four NKBA certifications: Associate Kitchen & Bath Designer (AKBD), Certified Kitchen Designer (CKD), Certified Bathroom Designer (CBD), and Certified Master Kitchen & Bath Designer (CMKBD). The employees would also become members of NKBA in the process.

NKBA says it will work closely with Lowe’s in developing employee learning opportunities including some offered in a virtual classroom environment.
