LAS VEGAS, NV - More than 82,000 builders, remodelers and kitchen and bath designers gathered in the Las Vegas Convention Center this past week for the International Builders' Show, the Kitchen and Bath Industry Show, and the International Window Coverings Expo.

Known as Design & Construction Week, the annual event combines two of the biggest residential remodeling and construction industry shows.

International Builders Show exhibitors filled 440,000 square feet of over 700,000 square feet filled with more than 1,500 exhibits, ranging from kitchen and bath cabinetry, flooring, windows, doors, hardware, millwork and marketing services.

"It's great to see the economy coming back, the exhibitors coming back, and the members building again," said Randy Strauss, chair of the NAHB Convention & Meetings Committee.

While most home builders continue to see their markets brighten, many are still affected by tight credit conditions, increases in building supply prices, and the limited availability of buildable lots.

Strauss reported that plans are already under way to incorporate more residential construction suppliers and their trade shows into next year's Design & Construction week, which is set for Jan. 20 - 22, 2015 in Las Vegas.
