MOORESVILLE, NC - In the wake of Hurricane Irene, Lowe's Companies Inc. announced today the company will pledge $1 million to disaster relief and rebuilding efforts in communities affected by the storm.

This donation is in addition to the $1 million Lowe’s donated this spring in response to flooding and a series of tornadoes that devastated communities in Missouri, Alabama and North Carolina. Also, the Lowe’s Charitable and Educational Foundation dedicated $1 million to rebuilding schools affected by natural disasters in 2011.
