Lincolnton Furniture Equipment Under AuctionLINCOLNTON, NC - Woodworking equipment from the closed Lincolnton Furniture plant is being auctioned through June 21.

Industrial Recovery Services is handling the online auction under orders by Carolina Trust Bank.  Items in the 250 lots up for auction include CNC machining centers, finishing lines, tenoners,sanders, material handling equipment and more.

Lincolnton Furniture closed Jan. 3, a year after being lauded by President Barack Obama as an example of America's manufacturing resurgence.

Bruce Cochrane opened the solid wood bedroom and dining room furniture company in December 2011 with 60 employees. The company said insufficient orders, price competition with Chinese imports, plus unexpected costs in retrofitting the older facility contributed to the closure.
