Italian Woodworking Technology Orders Down MILAN, ITALY - A survey by the Studies Office of Acimall (the Italian woodworking machinery and tools manufacturers’ association), based on a statistic sample of manufacturers, reveals orders for Italian technology are down by 1.1 percent compared to the same period of 2012. Demand from abroad decreased by 0.9 percent, while the decline on the domestic market was 1.4 percent.

The April-June 2013 period is the eleventh consecutive quarter with negative statistics, the seventh with a negative balance exceeding 20 points.

Confidence for Italian manufacturers, however, is slightly improving for foreign markets where there appears to be a generally “wait-and-see” attitude towards the future.
