Interfor Forest Acquires Tolleson Lumber for $130 MillionVANCOUVER, BC  - International Forest Products Limited acquired Tolleson Ilim Lumber Co., a dominant Southeast U.S. lumber companby based in Perry, Ga.

Paying $129.9 million, Interfor’s nwo ranks among the top five North American lumber firms, with annual lumber production capacity is expected to increase by almost 20% to 2.6 billion board feet.

“The Tolleson mills are a great fit with our operations in the U..S Southeast and provide a larger footprint on which to build our presence in the region," said Duncan Davies, Interfor’s President and CEO.

Interfor’s lumber capacity in the U.S. Southeast will total more than 900 million board feet following the the deal. Interfor supplies hemlock, pine, cedar, spruce and fir among other species for furniiture manufacture, flooring, interior millwork and construction grade lumber.

The Tolleson operations include two sawmills in Perry and Preston, GA, along with a remanufacturing facility in Perry. The combined annual lumber capacity of the sawmills is more than 400 million board feet. Recently, the mills rated as the two lowest cost mills in a survey of U.S. Southern pine sawmills. Interfor already had operations in Thomaston and Eatonton, GA.

The Perry mill already had plans underway to grow annualized lumber production by 50 million board feet in 2015, upgrading kilns and raising the number of operating hours at the facility.
