Imperial Woodworking Wins Craftsmanship AwardPALATINE, IL – Imperial Woodworking Co. (IWC) has won the WBC Star Craftsmanship Award for Visual Excellence for its Square 54 architectural woodworking project in Washington, DC.

Designed by Gensler’s Washington DC office, the project specified swiss pear wood for the office fronts. Imperial Woodworking did the veneer selections directly in Europe, handpicking more than 200,000 square feet from suppliers. The company said the veneer was then blueprint matched and stained to achieve the desired result.

Receiving the award on behalf of IWC were Frank Huschitt III, president, and Paul Garvin III, vice president/project manager. “We are honored to have received this award and are proud that our hard work, quality and craftsmanship are recognized,” Huschitt said in a statement.
