MUNICH, GERMANY --  More than 50,000 visitors from 72 countries explored the most recent developments in the forestry industry during INTERFORST 2014 held in Munich from July 16-20.

The theme of the trade show “Harvesting wood – the responsible way forward,” with a focus on sustainable and resource-efficient timber. Panelists discussed trends in international forestry technology, the benefits of timber, over forestry work and energy wood.

During the trade show, exhibitors and panelists provided demonstrations, which ranged from health and technical topics to the diversity of information technology in forestry.

INTERFORST 2014 featured 450 exhibitors – 288 national and 162 international companies – from 27 countries. This year’s convention space was expanded by about 15 percent to accommodate more exhibitors. Besides Germany, the top exhibiting countries were Finland, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Austria, Sweden and Switzerland. Additionally companies from China, Canada, Turkey and the United States were present at INTERFORST.
