Haworth's Contract Furniture Sales Grow 27%, Reach $1.8 BillionHOLLAND, MI – Haworth Inc. posted sales of $1.8 billion in 2014, a 27% increase over the previous year. The privately-held contract furniture maker attributed its double-digit revenue increase to strong, organic growth and last year's acquisition of the Italian-based Poltrona Frau Group.

President and CEO Franco Bianchi said the company is on track for continued growth in 2015.  "I believe our success is based on delivering results with a focus on client needs - our employees and dealers deserve the credit and thanks for this," he said in a statement. "More than just contributing to our success, their tenacity, creativity, loyalty and hard work make Haworth successful."

The Poltrona Frau Group acquisition expanded the Haworth's reach in the European commercial interiors segment. The group includes the Poltrona Frau, Cappellini and Cassina businesses. Haworth also continued to invest in new products for commercial interior work environments, including in the high-tech Bluescape.

Also on the global platform, the contract furniture manufacturer opened a new factory in Chennai, India, in 2014, as well as a new Shanghai showroom earlier this year.

On the domestic front, Haworth made news last year winning four NeoCon awards, including Best In Competition for the Openest collaborative furniture line. The company also received gold in the Casegoods category for Suite and silver in the Architectural Products category for Trivati.

Also announced last year was Haworth's goal to remove 56 chemicals of concern from its global products and also donated land that adjoins its global campus in Holland, MI, to contribute to improved water quality in the local watershed.
