HOLLAND, MI –  Haworth Inc. announced that its 2011 global sales for office furniture and workspaces reached $1.38 billion, an increase of 15 percent over 2010. The company noted that acquisitions and strategic partnerships also had a positive impact on growth for the year.

In June 2011, Haworth announced the acquisition of Legacy Furniture Group, giving it an entrace in the healthcare market niche. Also in June, the company expanded its retail partnership with Crate and Barrel with the announcement that Haworth’s Eddy table, Very Task and Very Conference chairs would exclusively sold for retail in Crate and Barrel stores and through its online catalog.

Also in 2011, the company launched the Haworth Collection, which includes Castelli branded products and those from the Poltrona Frau Group, which includes the Poltrona Frau, Cassina and Cappellini brands. Haworth announced its strategic alliance with Poltrona Frau Group back on June 13.

Although Haworth has since announced the sale of its Italian operations which includes the Castelli brand, to mutares AG, a  management firm based in Munich, Germany, Haworth will continue to distribute Castelli products in North America and Europe, excluding Italy. In turn, Castelli will be the exclusive distributor of Haworth products in Italy.

According to the company, it will continue to promote the sustainability of its products and expand the market with its Organic Workspace strategy, which included the launch of its Integrated Palette and Reside, Beside and Belong product platforms.
