Hardwood Floors Boost Home Values: Josh Altman
Hardwood Floors Enhance Value and Marketability of Homes

Hardwood Floors Boost Home Values: Josh AltmanTOANO, VA - Hardwood flooring helps sell homes more quickly and at a higher price, says star realtor Josh Altman.

“Hardwood flooring is a smarter investment than carpet because it lasts a lifetime, never goes out of style and is extremely desirable to homebuyers," says Altman, one of the top 10 realtors in the country and star of Bravo’s hit TV show, “Million Dollar Listing: L.A."

As the housing market – and the competition among sellers – heats up, getting the highest price through wood products enhancements can help homeowners extract maximum value from their sale.

Existing-home sales have edged up in recent months, while home prices continue to rise steadily above year-ago levels.

The National Wood Flooring Association 2011 survey found 99 percent of real estate agents say that houses with hardwood floors are easier to sell. Ninety percent believe homes with hardwood floors sell for more money and 82 percent say they sell faster.
