EDMUNDSTON, NB – A New Brunswick wood components and business furniture firm will invest almost $400,000 (Canadian dollars), with $240,000 from government investment aid for new plant and equipment. The provincial government is investing $94,300 through the Northern New Brunswick Economic Development and Innovation Fund.

Ébénisterie Tech Design Woodworking Inc. in Edmundston, NB will use the money to improve its manufacturing facility and plant operations, including training in lean manufacturing. 

"This investment will allow the operation to undergo important improvements and increase its production," said Health Minister Madeleine Dubé at an event announcing the funding. 

"Our investments will help Ébénisterie Tech Design Woodworking Inc. acquire a new manufacturing facility that will allow the company to improve its efficiency and the quality of its products," said Bernard Valcourt, Associate Minister of National Defence and Minister of State in New Brunswick.

The provincial government is investing $94,300 through the Northern New Brunswick Economic Development and Innovation Fund and another $60,000 through the NB Growth Program. A national governmetn loan of $192,647, and a grant of $32,477 are being matched by $160,053 from Ébénisterie Tech Design Woodworking Inc.

"The financial support provided by the federal and provincial governments is very important to the achievement of our current and future projects while improving the quality of our products," said Patrick Ouellette, company president and owner. "Our top goal has always been to increase the productivity of the company and remain competitive as we continue to maintain and increase the number of jobs.”
