TWO RIVERS, WI - Architectural wood products manufacturer Eggers Industries has acquired Select Veneer Co. in Smithfield, KY. The announcement was made Aug. 1.
“The acquisition of Select Veneer will provide Eggers with increased manufacturing flexibility, cost effectiveness, capabilities and capacity to meet the needs in the marketplace,” Eggers CEO and President Jay Streu said in a statement.
Select Veneer manufactures architectural veneer faces as well as custom architectural wood products. Founded in 2000 by Doug and Frank Kilibarda, Select Veneer has 90,000 square feet of manufacturing space on 17 acres. The company received the Innovator of the Year Award in 2010 from the Wood Machinery Industry Assn.
Also a past recipient of the WMIA Innovator of the Year Award, Eggers has more than 550,000 square feet of manufacturing space at its two facilities, located in Two Rivers and Neenah, WI. A vertically integrated manufacturer of architectural wood doors, panels and veneered components, the 128-year-old firm was featured last year in Wood & Wood Products magazine for its developments in lean manufacturing.
